Nail Therapy Courses

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED ANY PREVIOUS QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE BEFORE I ENROL ON A COURSE?

No, not at all.  If you are concerned that you may have difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact Samantha on 071 416 6516 or email her at info@nailtherapy.co.za who will be more than willing to discuss the options available to you.

HOW TO CHOOSE A COURSE

Gel
Gel Is the ideal beginners course.  Gel comes in a small jar and is about the consitstency of honey.  It is applied to the nail/ extension tip with a gel brush and is 'self levelling'.  It is easier to apply than acrylic making it the ideal system for beginners.  Gel nails are cured under an Ultra Violet (UV) lamp and are odour free.

Acrylic
This is also known as the liquid and powder system and is in high demand by customers as it is the strongest system.  You mix small balls of acrylic and powder on an acrylic brush and apply it to the nail, pushing it into shape with the brush.  It is harder to learn than Gel and some people dislike the smell of the product.

Acrylic Dip
This system is easier than Acrylic (liquid and powder system), is inexpensive and easy to learn.  This method of Acrylic nails also gives a thinner, more natural looking Acrylic nail and is a painting and dipping technique.  It uses no Monomer so has no odour.
